Far Gone Valley

Three hunters embark on their first ever mountain goat hunt. Chris, Devon and Taylor were all experienced hunters looking to take the next step in their practice and pursue one of British Columbia’s most hardy animals. Mountain goats are know for living in environments that are the most challenging to reach. This hunt would be no shortage of difficulty as the hunters made their way through an inhospitable valley and up the side of a mountain in pursuit of the mighty creature.

The film that started it all. This was a passion project through and through. It was every members first time on a mountain goat hunt and so all of the hunters thought it would be a good idea to have some sort of story told about it. They reached out to a local outdoors filmmaker, Nic. He had always thought the idea of filming a hunt sounded cool but hadn’t ever sought it out until this opportunity presented itself. Months of training and preparing to the best of his ability led up to a memorable experience, his first short doc style film and a pathway to a career as a hunting filmmaker. This trip was the birth of FARGONE and played a big role in defining it’s genre and style of work. It was a big leap to take but well worth it in the end.
